How to Easily Extend a Background in Photoshop
In this tutorial I use Photoshop to show you how to easily add a unique sparkler and motion blur effect for your portrait photograph.
For this tutorial, you’ll need a basic understanding of Photoshop Classic, including how to use layers, blending modes, masks, filter effects, brushes, and layer opacities.
Tips and Tricks for Extending a Background in Photoshop
- Don’t click “delete cropped pixels” — you might change your mind and need them later!
- Do click “content aware” — this is how the magic happens!
- Check the areas that content aware automatically filled in after you make your adjustment, then use the clone tool and/or healing brush to correct any issues
