What Can I Expect At My Studio Mini Session?

Mini sessions last 10-15 minutes and are typically enough time to capture a few different poses in one outfit. During your mini session, I’ll guide you through poses to get a smaller variety of images in a short period of time.

What’s Included:

3 Fully Edited Studio Photos of Your Choice

Your session includes three fully edited plain-background studio photos. These images feature a dark taupe backdrop that can be slightly modified with post-editing.

Time for 1 Outfit*

Mini sessions are the perfect length for one outfit, and you can swap out accessories such as a sheer top layer, hair clips, or floral crowns.

Bonus: 1 Background Replacement

As a bonus, your mini session also includes one (1) background replacement from your initial selection of 3 mages. This image will be a duplicate from its original, with a background replacement applied.

Optional Extras:

  • Heirloom quality luxe matte prints start at $15 — I am a strong believer in printing your photos so you’re able to see them on a regular basis! Your images will be edited using the color profile of my professional printing lab, and I strongly encourage ordering from me so that your images match the intended edit.
  • Gown and robe rental from my client closet – Varies, $25-$75 per item
  • Additional standard studio plain background images $35 each
  • Additional creative edit images $125 each

The Process/ What to Expect

Step 1/3:

Check out my portfolios and pricing – you will need to scroll down past the “recent photos” section. If you have questions, you may wish to check out the FAQ. Then get in touch!
The best time for a maternity session is between 27-35 weeks, aiming for weeks 30-32 if possible. For newborns, it’s best to do the session between 3-15 days of age. I encourage booking at least 4-6 weeks ahead of time to ensure availability and allow time for planning.

The booking process requires a signed session agreement with model release, as well as a retainer. Planning call times and session dates are not guaranteed until the booking process is complete.

Step 2/3:

Once I’ve received your signed session agreement and retainer, your booking will be complete and we’ll see up your planning call. You’ll also receive access to my client closet if you’d like to rent a gown.


During your planning call we’ll go over wardrobe and details about the images you’d like, and we’ll chat about hair, makeup, and accessories.

Step 3/3:

Have your Session!

During your session I’ll guide you through a series of poses to get a nice variety of image.


After your session, you’ll receive a link to your private proofing gallery to select your 12 images. Out of these 12 images, you can select the 4 images you’d like me to do the “creative edits” on.

Once I’ve completed all edits, you’ll receive a link to a new gallery with your finalized images where you can download everything at full resolution.

Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions.

How much is a maternity session?

Weekday studio maternity sessions are $990 for studio sessions and $1040 for in-home sessions. A marketing discount of $195 can be applied to either session with a signed model release making the studio session $795 and the in-home session $845 (sensitive images will not be shared.)

How much is a newborn session?

Newborn sessions are $745 when booked with a maternity session, or $845 when booked a lá carte.

How do I book a maternity session?

To book a session, simply fill out the contact form at the bottom of this page. I’ll get back to you with a few date options, and then to secure your date and booking, you’ll need to sign a photography session agreement and pay the retainer which is equal to 50% of the session fee.

When should I book a maternity session?

I recommend having maternity sessions between 27-35 weeks of pregnancy, aiming for weeks 30-32 if possible. I also recommend booking as early as possible to get your preferred date and ensure sufficient time for planning your session.

How long is a full length maternity session?

Sessions are about 1 hr long, with about 40 minutes of photography. The remaining time may be used for outfit changes and/or hair and makeup touch-ups.

Do you offer gowns or a client closet?

I do rent gowns and dresses for sessions. I found in the past that many clients wanted to wear their own dresses. By offering dress rental as an optional add-on, I was able to lower session fees, and the rental fee covers the costs of steaming, cleaning, and transporting the dresses.
