Common Questions

I want you to know everything that there is to know about your session before it happens. That’s why I’ve put together this set of common questions people have!

I’m so glad you asked! Photo-ready outfits are a huge key to getting great images!

All sessions include a pre-session video or phone consultation to discuss the details of your wardrobe, as well as ongoing assistance via text or email.

I also offer gown and dress rentals from my client closet, featuring a wide array of styles and colors.

Yes! I will guide you through a series of poses and will also help tweak things like hand, arm, and leg placement, hemlines or trains, and (stray) hairs as needed to make sure everything looks good for the camera.

Newborn sessions are “lightly posed” – I do not offer wrapped or fully posed newborn sessions.

For detailed information please visit the page for the session type you’re interested in. Pricing can be found at the bottom of each page, and you will need to scroll down past the “recent sessions” section. Studio Maternity info can be found here, In-home maternity info can be found here, and Newborn info can be found here.

I currently accept Credit Card and Checks. Credit cards are accepted via a secure invoicing page which is processed by Square. Checks can be made out to Allison Corinne Photography, LLC and must clear 13 days prior to the date of your session.

Maternity sessions last about 45 minutes with 15 minutes for outfit changes and/or setup (for in-home sessions.) Newborn sessions typically last about 1-1.5 hours depending on feeding, diaper changes, etc.

If you have a set date in mind, it’s best to book early to guarantee availability. If you’re a bit more flexible, I sometimes have last minute openings that can be booked as late as 48 hours beforehand.

For newborn sessions, I block out a handful of session slots around your due date. Once baby arrives, just let me know and you can choose your session time from a few options.

Galleries take approximately 3-4 weeks to edit, after which time they’ll be made available for immediate download.

What do you mean IF 🙂

The short answer is, I have a few tricks up my sleeve to get things back on track… and we’ll get some special images in the process too.

Newborn sessions include plenty of time to feed, burp, or change as needed. If baby is sleepy, they can nap! Sleeping babies are the cutest and I loooooove photographing their sweet dreaming faces!

As long as mom(s) and dad(s) are at ease, relaxed, and smiling, I promise we’ll get some great images.

Your gallery will remain live for 30 days from date of delivery. After that time, there is a service fee to re-upload the images. I only archive images offline for one year, so please make sure to backup your images!

All sessions sessions include one free re-schedule, up to 24 hours before the session start time, with no questions asked.

Additional re-schedules are $150 per instance.

I love animals and they are more than welcome to join us, IF your session location permits pets, AND your pets are well behaved and follow basic commands.

If your pet cannot be controlled, I reserve the right to ask you to remove the pet.

If your pet poses a danger to myself, other people in the area, or to any property, I reserve the right to end the session immediately with no makeup time and no refunds.

Please let me know during our consult if you plan to include your pets!

While I do encourage families to consider sharing these vulnerable images in an effort to normalize human bodies, pregnant/postpartum bodies, and breast/chest/bottle-feeding, there is no pressure to do so and your wishes regarding sharing will be fully respected.

Depending on your comfort level, we may take photos either fully topless, partially covered, or fully covered. We can also take several versions of each image if you’d like a more bare image for yourself, but a more covered image to share with family and friends.

I don’t mind capturing a photo with one or two extended family members at no extra charge. If they’re planning to join us for the entire session, or if there are a lot of additional people, I will need to charge extra to cover the additional time it takes to photograph and edit those images.

Absolutely! I offer all kinds of custom options, just let me know what you’re interested in and I’ll tell you whether it’s something I do. Some other genres that I regularly shoot are personal branding (aka “relaxed headshots” or “social media profile photos”), couples, and family sessions for existing clients.

I do not offer wedding coverage or full length family sessions for new clients, but I have some great recommendations if you’re in the market for either!

Find Out Where You Need to Start

Your session is a collaborative process, but I’ll walk you through every step of the way from booking to receiving your final images.

2.

Get in touch! The best time to have your maternity session is around the 32-35 week mark. For newborns, it’s best to do the session around 3-15 days of age. I encourage booking at least 4-6 weeks ahead of time to ensure availability and allow time for planning.

3.

Complete your booking by filling out the (digital) paperwork I’ll send you. Your booking is complete when I receive your retainer and signed session agreement. We’ll also set up a time for your planning call.

4.

During your session,
we’ll begin with some standard, straight-forward poses, then work into eliciting more emotion. I use a series of prompts rooted in a grounding practice to have you feeling at ease, as well as connected to and enjoying the moment.

5.

After your session, you’ll receive a link to your private online gallery. For the keepsake package, your images will be fully edited and ready to download. For the basic or classic package, you’ll be able to select your images which I will then edit and place back into the gallery for you to download.

Allison is an amazing maternity photographer!

Allison is so kind and very professional. She has an amazing eye and had so many great ideas to give us the best possible photos. The pictures came out so natural and gorgeous and she made me feel incredibly beautiful even at 38 weeks pregnant. I will cherish these forever and even cried the first time I saw them.

Allison is a fabulous photographer and genuinely wonderful person!

She captured such beautiful photos for my maternity and newborn photoshoots. I haven’t been a particularly gushy mom or mom-to-be, but these photos make me feel so beautiful and highlight this very special moment in our lives. She was also very thoughtful with little extra touches that were meaningful to us.
